01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Cafe de Half Moon serves a thoughtful range of coffees, anchored by its approachable Half Moon Blend, designed to be easy-drinking even for those who rarely take coffee black. Roasts and single origins range from a charcoal-roasted blend with deep bitterness and smoky depth to a milder, light-roast American blend, alongside straight-origin brews such as Colombia Supremo and Guatemala. Dessert-style drinks expand the choices further, including the Cafe Rocky—iced coffee topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream—and the blended, frosty mocha shake.

For a substantial lunch, the midday pasta sets are a reliable staple, each served with a mini salad and a slice of thin-cut toast. The selection spans shrimp in tomato cream sauce, bacon-and-aubergine arrabbiata, and kissaten standards like meat sauce and carbonara, inviting you to dip the toast into the pasta sauce just as you would in an old-school Japanese coffee shop. Heartier appetites can also turn to rice dishes such as hayashi rice or beef curry, both served with a mini salad, or pick up a quick bite like a hot dog topped with original chili meat sauce.

Mornings begin calmly with breakfast sets featuring thick-cut toast or a ham-and-egg sandwich, accompanied by a mini salad and a drink. The first floor is designated for smoking, and while the second floor is reported to offer non-smoking seating, the space is not completely sealed off. For an afternoon break or post-meal treat, house-made coffee jelly or a bittersweet coffee parfait makes a fitting excuse to linger over a quiet moment.
